World Records

The IGFA (International Game Fish Association) distinguishes 4 anglers categories:

• Smallfry until 10 years old.
• Juniors from 11 to 16 years old.
• Masculine over 17 years old
• Feminine over 17 years old.

There still remain opportunities to establish other world records (let it be age category, line or improving the ones established).

As you may read it, records are not reserved to “men”. Diversity has already been existing for several years!

• 5 records out of 13 are held by feminine
• 7 records out of 13 are held by juniors or smallfry
• 4 juniors out of 5 are feminine

It is not by accident or chance that a same accumulates world records. It is just when experience, expectations, preparation and motivation meet opportunity!

1. On 30/01/2007 Stephan KREUPL – Germany – captures 561,5kg Pacific Blue Marlin on trolling on a 80lb line with a Williamson lure (Big Blue Cavitator), after a 45min fight standing up.
