Pierre, Michel, Jean Claude and Maurice
The schedule: 2 x 58h and a 34h
Gelena, an intense tropical cyclone, caused major damage on February 09 and 10, 2019, mainly on the west of the island and disrupted fishing trips in the following days!
Activity is good on the first day (yellowfin tunas and wahoos). However, sharks did not allow jigging or baiting. There were heavy fights lasting more than an hour, on jig sticks or bait without seeing these fish!
Marlin’s Boulevard kept its promises with a first marlin coming to play in the lines, another one fell apart, a 3rd Blue Marlin was released by Pierre after a festival of jumps by the boat (which you can see in video on our facebook and You Tube pages) and a 4th big marlin broke the 130 lbs wire.
Towards the end of the trip, sharks agreed to give us a break. Jean Claude takes the opportunity to make a GT about 16kg and the other fishermen could finally have fun on baiting. Pierre then catches a 68.8kg dogtooth tuna on the live bonito. It’s the 231° doggy of + 50 kg caught aboard Black Marlin.
Excellent atmosphere for this team, certainly reinforced by the regional specialities that each one had brought.
